COINHOT – News that Starbucks will be working on a non -fungible token (NFT), shows how serious this coffee giant from the United States is to expand into the world of blockchain technology.

Approved by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz directly at the forum, Monday (4/4/2022).

It is planned that this NFT launch will welcome customers starting from the end of 2022, citing cryptopolitan.com.

Starbucks has joined the digital industry is not the first time, before that in April 2021, Starbucks collaborated with the Bakkt crypto exchange, to introduce a cryptocurrency payment system for buying and selling transactions.

Not only that in 2020, Starbucks is once again using blockchain technology to bring more transparency to consumers by browsing coffee.

Citing Cryptopolitan, by launching the system, customers can see a growth map of coffee bean products used by the company.

Starting with this success, Starbucks wants to further expand its digital assets with the launch of NFT. This idea is also in line with the use of blockchain in different parts of the world.

For the record, NFT itself emerged as a development of colored coin technology in the blockchain ecosystem in 2012. These digital assets are usually in the form of text, images and videos whose ownership is registered in an online blockchain system.

The existence of these digital assets is also claimed to be the “property ” of the future of the company. While it’s unclear what NFT’s specifications are, its growing popularity leads Schultz to believe that NFT can help his company grow its marketing.
